A Very Potter Sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD. This is why I have not blogged in such a long time. This was TOTALLY AWESOME. I beg you, if you have not seen A Very Potter Musical, you have to watch it now. It only takes 3 hours and 30 minutes. It is probably the best musical I have ever seen. This is especially true because it is original, and everything is written and preformed by this group of college students.
However, if you are not a Harry Potter fan, or if you are, but have not read the books, or just haven't gotten around to the Deathly Hallows then I strongly suggest to avoid this amazing piece of work. You will not get the jokes and it won't be as enjoyable as it could be.
Comments on casting:
I died laughing when Joe Walker came out as Umbridge. I had seen the banner with the golden trio with a very muscular woman in pink leaning over them. I knew it had to be Umbridge but I had no idea he would be playing her. It actually took me quite a while to really realize that it was, in fact, him.
Nicky Lang as, well a lot of people, adorable! He really is so cute.
Rita Skeeter, I was sad to see that Jamie got such a small part, but I couldn't see her doing anything else.
LUCIOUS MALFOY. Oh my God, I immediately said "Wow, he's pretty good looking." And guess what, he's Cedric DIGory. I only discovered that at the end credits. His dancing was amazing.
Lauren Lopez, I know it was not a new casting but she amazed me once again. "I drew a picture of you!" This was just a laugh every time she was on stage.
GOYLE RUL---is a centaur? Hahah, my God, that was excellent. I saw the whole "Umbridge + Firenze" thing coming the whole time.
There are too many good things to say about this musical. But I will say this, my favorite part is when Joey Richter, Ron, went to removed the Taylor Lautner poster [Which was genius, by the way] and it was stuck and improvised with "It's magically stuck to the wall." and later with "Oh, look, they have that poster here, too. They have them in every room of this place."
THE EMOTION. I was "awing" all the time. SNAPE. <3 Joe Moses is the man. And the girl who played all of the extra characters, including Lily Evans, was wonderful.
