"Best and Worst Movies of the Year... So Far"

I saw this through my homepage today and decided to check it out. Though I have not seen some of these movies I do wish to give my own opinion in regards to this "article."

Best Movie: Inception
Awe Leo, how I adore you. I am most definitely going to see this movie. I do know some who believe it will be similar to the matrix but I say "Nay!" I have never seen that series and anything with Leo is guaranteed to be better and hotter.
Runner Up: Winter's Bone
I have never previously heard of this movie and the IMDB description of it doesn't seem very interesting, but given the opportunity I would most likely watch it.

Worst Movie: Valentine's Day
Okay, it wasn't completely terrible. Sure it should have been better with all of those stars but at the same time, how could it have been? Usually movies are really good because of one or two actors, this just had too much to take in.
Runner Up: The Last Airbender
God, this should have been first. Honestly, I have not seen this movie. I refuse to. You may say "How can you judge the movie if you have not seen it?" and I was definitely one of those people before it came out. Notice that word: before. Then the very friend who got me into the Nickelodeon show five years ago told me that Sokka was being pronounced like "Coke" instead of "sock." That was the end of the line. Aang was pronounced "ong," what is that? I was totally against the idea that the casting was racist against Asians, this is mostly because I don't view the characters in the show as having race. When I heard that the pronunciation changes were due to a desire to sound more authentically Asian I was mad. GAH! This movie...

Best Worst Movie: Birdemic: Shock and Terror
HAHAHA! This is next on the list, baby! A friend of mine and I have a theory that all hilariously bad movies have colons in them. It is so true! I might actually have to see this now.
Runner Up: Sex and the City 2
I have seen the first one, and it is one of those movies you can watch without seeing the series, which really says something about the plot. I will watch it when it goes on TV though.

Worst Actress: Jennifer Aniston, Bounty Hunter
I say good for her for continuing to act but this was a terrible movie. Not interesting in the least bit.
Runner Up: Jenifer Lopez
I haven't seen the movie she was in and I don't plan to.

Worst Actor: John Travolta [in that movie with Love]
Yeah...he's not always the best actor. He looked pretty weird with a bald cap, let's just not go there.
Runner Up: Tom Cruise
Here that ladies and gentlemen! Tom can't do comedy! I actually do not like him very much so I avoid him at all costs and didn't really expect this movie to do well.

Best Kiss: Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum
Way to go girl. She got both first place and runner up. Granted her runner up kiss was with a girl but she is crazy versatile! Amanda Seyfried has been around everywhere. She has done Dear John, Letters to Juliet, Jenifer's Body, and now Chloe. I wonder if she will win some award.

Best on Screen Duo: Tina Fey and Steve Carrel, Date Night
I really wanted to see this movie, so bad, but I never got around to it. I am not surprised that they were amazing together and I cannot wait to see it when it comes out on DVD.

So there you go, my first movie analysis post. I did not go over every single movie that the website discussed, this is mostly because I did not know many of them.

In case you did not know, the Doctor Who season finale is on next Saturday and even though I have already seen it I guarantee it will be better on a real TV. I cannot wait. Expect a fangirl post next Saturday.

I guess it's one of those things that I should be excited about, and I am, but sometimes I just don't know what to think about it.

The word "college" does not encompass this process, an actual college can be very small, smaller than 2,000 people even. That's smaller than my school, I think. Still, it's small. A "university" is a collection of colleges that involve different majors and many more people. A state college is a school that receives funds from the state and the cost of one of these is generally less. A private college, or university, is one that makes all of its money independent to the state, which usually means that it costs more money so they can pump cash from parents.

I have found that many state colleges are nearly the same; they have all of the same majors and do not stand out in the least bit.

We've been told to "apply early" and to get into the process early on and once we get there, when we know what's going on, we find out that we had no clue what was happening.

I recently applied to a college because I am going to be visiting it soon and if I applied early I wouldn't have to pay a fee. Big mistake on my part. Websites for colleges make it seem so easy. "Apply Now!" and counselors understate the process. As soon as I applied I received an email that said,

"Thank you for your application to ______. We are pleased that you are considering ______ and look forward to working with you during the admission process.

Because you applied online, we may or may not have received all the documentation needed to review your file. A complete file includes the admission application, official high school transcript, SAT and/or ACT scores, and class rank, if applicable. Although not required, an essay and letters of recommendation are suggested. The Secondary School Report is also very helpful when reviewing your file. You should print the form and give it to your high school counselor or advisor for completion. And, please make every effort to complete your file within the next three weeks."

Great, I thought. I'll just email my counselor, they made it seem easy. Well turns out that I can't get any of these forms sent until September, why? Because no one is in school until September! So why, oh why, did I do this to myself? It's because I finally think I know what's going on.

I think maybe knowing what's going on this early in the process is not the best thing for me. I find myself talking to people about college and I'm excited. Then I get home and tell my mom about my new finds college wise and then I find a con about the college, go on a mass search through the College Board and then get extremely discouraged. But I can't stop! I can't just stop looking up colleges, summer is the best time to look at colleges, or that's what they say.

If I stopped now I would lose track of what I really want to do. In a way I'm glad that I'm crossing colleges off my list but with every new college that has something that I want I find a reason to dislike it.

Today I found a college from a suggestion I was given and I became really excited about a major it offered; I didn't mind that it was a short distance from my home because I have been looking for major over any other factor such as location, cost [I mean that would certainly be a factor later on], or name. When I mentioned the distance to my mom I got the idea that A] she thought that because of the closeness it was a commuter college and that I would not receive boarding or B] because it was close she would rather I stay home and commute to the college.

This "commuting" is not ideal. I don't dislike my home life, I love my parents and brothers but when people say "picture yourself in your dorm, what do you see?" I really don't see myself sitting in my bedroom trying to write an essay while my brothers complain to my parents, yelling down the hallway.

I was given the advice from a local state school graduate to commute until Junior year, in which she suggested to get an apartment. As a social person I said I was worried about not knowing anyone on campus, which she said would not be possible. Then I said that I was worried that I would never get anything done. [Thinking about it now, I almost know that is true. I love television and being at home it would be as if nothing changes and I would slack off and watch TV instead of doing my work]. She told me that at the college she attended no one was ever in the library and if I commuted I would be more likely to be in the library. [Which I think is silly, because I think that I might be more inclined to avoid the library and socialize because I will see people less frequently to begin with. Also, I think that if I commuted that I would have less free time on campus to go to the library]. But she says that my hours would be different from my family members and it wouldn't be so much of a problem.

I am not so sure. I am completely unsure about the entire thing. I see my graduated friends and wonder how they decided on a college at all.

I feel that going to college is like the change of seasons, it has to happen. But commuting is when it turns to summer and it is insanely hot and what do you have? An air conditioner that is broken and keeps the room at the same temperature. So you are sitting in college, but not really because it's just like you're home and you never left, all that's new is the broken air conditioner. [This may not make much sense but what I'm trying to say is that you're in the same place you were the year before but you feel different and you have a ton of work that never really existed before [that's the AC]].

On top of all of this I have to go GP and I can honestly say that I do not want to write an article about a signing of a paper that opened a national park. It's so boring. Would I rather read about 1950s cowboys and write an essay or write an essay about a park I know nothing about? What do you think?

I know this must be the same thing being said from every high school senior but I just have to say it. I hope this gets easier. I really do.

I love a man in uniform

So in the interest to save my small circle of readers a ton of agony I will not be posting about searching for colleges, or taking senior pictures. [OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!] Instead, I am going to talk about baseball. Don't run away yet! I'm not talking about the game, I'm talking about the players.

The Phillies are an amazingly good looking team. Don't believe me? Well...

In honor of my good friend Nick who will constantly say "Chase Utley, he's the man." I will begin with none other than Chase himself. Awe he's so cute. And there are so many pictures of him with puppies! Who doesn't like a guy who likes puppies?

Look at this home-run hitter! He's just a big teddy bear. Definitely a person I think is worth meeting, given the opportunity of course.

Speaking of teddy bears...anyone up for a Hawaiian? Oh well, they only have mongoose there. OUTFIELDER, they never get respect, but he has earned his unlike some other people....Awe cutie!

PITCHER! Sure, you don't get to see him as often as the other players, but that just shows how good he is. Just kidding, he's a pitcher, there are quite a few of them. But he's awesome anyway. So awesome that I have another picture of him.

This, my dears, is Cody Ransom. He previously played for the minor league team the Iron Pigs, which I have seen in person. I have high hopes for him, now only if he had a personality or was interviewed...

This is why I love baseball. No, not for the guys, okay maybe I do have a thing for guys in baseball uniforms, what of it? In baseball you get to see the reactions on all of the players' faces, and that, to me, shows how good the team is. Baseball just makes me happy.

Music of the week

This post was inspired by my cousin Lauren! She has great ideas.

1. Womanizer: Britney Spears
That's right, I jumped on that bandwagon. As soon as this came out I knew I had to get her new CD. After her failed comeback, a shamed one at that, I had little hope for her, but this CD is great and I recommend it.

2. Imagine: Glee Cast
I cannot wait for this show to come back. Get me some of that Artie. Yeah, that's right. I've known about this wonderful man called Kevin McHale since his boy band days. Boy band? What's that, you say? Well they broke up for him to do Glee but he was really great in that too.

3. Cancer: My Chemical Romance
Such a sad song. I love this band, honestly. I know a lot of people say "MCR saved my life," I believe it. This is a band that can bring out the strangest sides in people, my mom even likes this CD. I want another!

4. Disco: Metro Station
I will admit, I do usually skip this song. In this album there are only a few good songs. I believe this is one of my good friend's favorite song of theirs. [The grammar in that last sentence, I'm sorry.]

5. My Beautiful Woman: Backstreet Boys
You know that song that is singing about your gender and when you sing it out loud it just sounds weird to other people? This is that song. It is so catchy and it's great to sing, and dance along to.

6. Hate U: 2pm
What a band. I feel for them, they lost their leader in a mysterious ordeal. There are no words to express how awful I feel for them when I listen to "Tired of Waiting."

7. Get Back: Demi Lovato
I have to admit, I was nervous about this album when I saw this music video. After watching Camp Rock and witnessing the horrible "dancing" preformed by Demi I was worried for her singing career. I do like her voice though.

8. Again and Again: 2pm
I still love this band, even two numbers down. Good song, that's pretty much it.

9. Losing It: Nevershoutnever
I love this album, it's a little short, but I love it.

10. She's a Handsome Woman: Panic! at the Disco
Good band to end a post on. This album is awesome. It's great for the bus during the spring, it just bleeds springtime. As opposed to their previous album that was sex, lies and, well, more sex. This band! I just love their vocabulary in everything they do. Now I want to listen to the whole album.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

That's right, I want a T.A.R.D.I.S. for my wedding. It's not too much to as, is it? TARDIS stands for Time and Realitive Dimensions in Space. If you have seen the season finale you would know that Amy used this phrase to remember the Doctor.

I cannot wait for the next season. However, I am opposed to the idea of a Doctor Who movie...mostly because the proposed idea involved Johnny Depp, who I love, playing the Doctor. The reason I have a problem with this is because both the show and the movie would be going on at the same time...with two different Doctors.

The director of this proposed movie wants to draw in viewers for the show, but how can this be done if they expect to see Depp and they get Smith?

Ah well. I love this show all the same. Short post for once.

Rainbows + Bananas = Death

Oh Mario Kart Wii why must you torture me? I was having such a lovely time on Luigi's Circut and Moo Moo Meadows and thinking that with a name like Rainbow Road nothing could ever go wrong.

Well I should have known that thinking "What could possibly go wrong?" is a signal for all things to go wrong.

Okay, I have played MKW before and I have attempted Rainbow Road before; I hate it. I was playing with my brother on a team race. I was absolutely against the level and threatened to cry if I was forced to participate, my other brother even screamed out in disapproval of the level...but no, we raced it.

Going as slowly as possible I embarked on this journey that was sure never to end. I openly decided that this level was the worst to have any "effects" like bananas, shells, red boxes, anything! I would not want to hit any of them and I wouldn't want to give them to anyone else, mostly because I know that I am perfectly good at falling off the road without their help.

Speaking of when I fell off. I was coasting safely at first place for the first half of the road, nice and easy. Suddenly there wasn't a road anymore and my brother burst out laughing at my obnoxious "WOAAAAAAAAAAAH" for a response. He, however, did not fall off the rainbow as a result of his laughter.

I would estimate that I fell off the track at least ten times and went from first to twelfth to fourth and then to not finishing. Although, there was a fair share of my brother's screams of agony when he hit a banana and fell off the road. I think he only got fifth place.

And thus ends a wonderful rant on Mario Kart.

Super Junior Music Video Freakout!

I don't know how to express my fangirling without sounding like a freak. It has yet to come to this blog but I am extremely into the KPOP culture, this being songs, clothing, everything. I got into it back in ninth grade and have always looked for new ways to experience it.

I don't have enough time to explain everything that I have ever loved about KPOP, this post will be dedicated to this music video. [Thanks Noelle!]

The dancing isn't the best in this music video but I could care less, how cute are they?! And of course, my favorite member Eunhyuk is in the front of all of the dancing. I love that about him. He's such a great dancer.


Eunhyuk: Dancing is great, I love his blond hair, and shirtless! Who doesn't love a guy who can dance without a shirt? The cowboy boots crack me up. His rapping is sophisticated and wonderful. And that smile at the camera! -swoon-

Donghae: It's the reprise of the rose! Awe, he is just too cute with that smile and look of nervousness. Cute kid.


Reyowook: Points to him! Washing a car all alone. I love how he keeps looking over the car to see if she's returning. He's a great singer and pulls the song together.

Siwon: Wow, what a weird way to start the song...tying your girlfriend's shoes; shoes that are never revealed. He seems to be on the sidelines during this video. I'm okay with that. Oh, I wonder if that girl was his fiance, that would be cute.


Kyuhyun: What's up with his shirt? Oh well, effort for putting that poster together. His hair looks good too. And as usual his singing brings the song together.

Leeteuk: THE HAT! I got a good laugh out of that. Cute with taking pictures.


Heechul: I am so proud of him. In the last music video he looked extremely apathetic but this time around he pulled his act together and looked great. I don't get the pants though.

Shindong: Awe, sweetheart.

Sungmin: The hair! He looks sophisticated and adorable. Playing the piano. :) Check out around 1:48, sneaking over?

Yesung: Balloons! There wasn't much of him in this music video, except at the end. Oh and with the kids. Cute.

I'm forgetting someone...Oh, no I'm not. There are only nine of them in this music video. Who is missing? Well Hangeng is suing SM, Kangin is serving in the military, and Kibum just disappeared. AH! For some reason Siwon isn't in any other part of the music video other than the beginning. Maybe he was shooting a movie. Wow, I just counted wrong. Go me!
